The abortion industry still receives millions of dollars each year in federal and state taxpayer money through various funding streams. In 2019, Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, received $616.8 million in government funds.
Because many of the large public programs that fund the abortion industry are run by both federal and state governments, efforts to defund the abortion industry have been further complicated by the courts.
