Sunday, October 4, 2026 | 2:00–3:00 PM | Burlington Avenue, Hastings
Join hundreds of pro-life Christians from throughout our community—and thousands more across the United States and Canada—for the 2026 Life Chain.
For one peaceful, prayerful hour, we will stand together along Burlington Avenue as a public witness for life. We gather in remembrance of the millions of unborn babies whose lives have been lost to abortion, to pray for mothers and families facing difficult or unexpected pregnancies, and to pray for our community and our nation.
Be a light in a darkened world as we peacefully and prayerfully stand for the dignity of every human life.
What Is Life Chain?
Life Chain is a peaceful, prayerful public witness for life held each year on the first Sunday of October in communities throughout the United States and Canada.
Participants line the roadway approximately six feet apart while holding provided, non-graphic pro-life signs. During the hour, participants are encouraged to pray quietly for unborn children, mothers and fathers facing difficult circumstances, our churches, our community, and our nation.
Life Chain is family-friendly, and people of all ages are welcome to participate.
The History of Life Chain
The first Life Chain was held in California in 1987 as Christians came together to publicly and peacefully affirm the value of unborn human life. What began as a local effort grew into an annual movement, with Life Chains now taking place in communities across the United States and Canada.
From its beginning, Life Chain has been church-oriented and prayer-focused. Its purpose is not confrontation or protest, but to give Christians an opportunity to stand together in prayer and provide a visible witness that every human life has value and deserves protection.
For nearly four decades, participants have gathered along streets and highways with a simple mission: to pray, to remember, and to peacefully stand for life.
